  4. Check your tires Proper inflation improves gas mileage 3% (20 lbs/year/gal)
  5. Use less hot water Low flow showerhead; cold water laundry (350-500 lbs/year)
  6. Avoid products with a lot of packaging Cut down your trash by 10% (1,200 lbs/year)
  7. Adjust your thermostat Down 2° in winter, up 2° in summer (2,000 lbs/year)
  8. Plant a tree One tree absorbs 2,000 lbs/life
